Diary and letter. 1908-1953.

The diary was kept by Atkinson on the voyage to Australia on board the R.M.S. "Orontes" in 1908. The diary was then sent to his brother, William Atkinson, in England. The diary contains descriptions of places visited on the way to Australia, such as Gibraltar, Naples, Suez Canal and Colombo. It also describes Perth and Busselton where Atkinson settled. The letter was written from Busselton to his brother, William, 1953 Nov. 28. It describes life in South Western Australia, as well as its landscape and flora.
